We made it. Welcome to the party.

Today we celebrate our first full year as a company.

When I founded this company in February of last year, I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but none of us knew quite how challenging it would turn out to be. While the COVID-19 pandemic came as a huge (and seemingly impossible) curveball, I was honestly excited to be versatile and adapt quickly. People are always going to need happiness, especially in moments of personal and national stress, which meant I certainly couldn’t stop now. In possibly the most important election in a generation, we became one of Rock the Vote’s Brands for Democracy, to help spread voting information and help to create the next generation of social activism. We’re extremely proud of all the people who voted for the first time of what we hope will be many.

While I had my eye on national issues, I couldn’t forget our fellow small businesses in our hometown of Northampton, Massachusetts.

A2Z Science and Learning Toy Store was always one of my favorite places growing up, so imagine my surprise when what began as a meeting quickly turned into an off the wall photo shoot with T-Rexes and giant hands. That I’ll never forget, which proves it’s always good to have Pepperoni on hand (badum-tss). Being able to sponsor Look Memorial Park’s annual holiday lights was a dream come true and a very special moment for both me and this company. Giving people true happiness in the midst of tough times is everything I strive for. I’ll never forget seeing our name on the sponsor board; it’s that moment that you know you’re starting to make it.

Likewise, we celebrate our continuing collaboration with BBG Creative and can’t wait to see what all of us come up with in the future.

A ton of thanks goes to writer and disability activist Carly Findlay for helping to give us advice on adding image descriptions for people with visual disabilities to our social media posts and continuing to speak up for and alongside disabled communities all over the world. You’ve opened my mind to the needs of people left out of these experiences for too long.

And to you, the person reading this, if you’ve been following us throughout our first year or you’ve just come onboard, thank you. You are the reason this company exists and why I do everything I can to give you happiness, love and wellbeing.

Here’s to the next… one year?? (OK, I tried.)

Regards,
